I'm giving Donna's a 5 star for the following reasons:

    1. There is no place interesting to eat breakfast in Mesquite - Donna's try's to be interesting

    2. Service was friendly and punctual- visited on a Friday morning

    3. FRENCH TOAST, FRENCH TOAST!!  - I have eaten French toast all over and they do it very well.

    4. BACON - I don't know what they do special but it's excellent

I really wanted to like this place.
The surroundings blast you back in time to when my grandparents built their house in the 80's with the gold ceiling fans. The server was the highlight of the lunch. The breakfast I ordered was the Deluxe more like the grease sampler! Ate then left when we went to pay the guy cashing us out looked to be like a greasy a  hole like he was there and that a it give me your money and leave! I didn't know cafe's had PIMPS !

Looking for something outside of a chain and ready to serve whatever we fancied within reason we found ourselves here.   If you are looking for adjectives like trendy, upscale or even kitschy stop here and reroute.  If you are looking for homey, authentic country food come on in.

I went for the classic diner patty melt on rye with cottage cheese and peaches.  It was a homemade patty and perfectly grilled onions and rye.  Partner in crime went for the 8.99 turkey and dressing special...homemade green beans and mashed potatoes complete with cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, rolls and cornbread.

Our waitress Kim is a gem and a jewel and made us feel right at home.

A picture says a thousand words.

So y'all. I kid you not, this place I cannot. I went to brunch with my family and from the time that we walked in... I was done. It literally started with the smell. It smelled like someone's grandmothers house who smoked for 49 years. Why didn't I leave!?! Because my grandparents wanted to try it. So once we sat down it took forever to get our drink orders. And once the waitress came and took our order we wait FOREVER for our food. And once we got our food, it didn't even look appetizing. My bacon was so hard you could stab someone with it. And the pancakes were so spongey. So I love my grandparents. But hooooney. I will not be back

They need to do a total remodel. The interior is just nasty. Has a greasy filthy feel and has a foul smell. I walked out. I lost my appetite
